TUTORIAL (S805/S905/S812): How to install AlexELEC Retro Gaming firmware

Hello Everyone

This video will show you how to download and install AlexELEC. This system is a fork of the famous LibreELEC but also incorporates a retro gaming element that brings all your favourite classic games to your hardware using Retroarch bundled with various retro gaming cores.

This system is available for the devices such as the S805 devices like the MXQ, S905 like the MXQ Pro, PC, Raspberry Pi etc. You can apply this guide to all hardware that AlexELEC is available for.

Win32 Disk Imager from here

7zip file extractor from from here


CAUTION: FOLLOW THIS GUIDE AT YOUR OWN RISK. THIS HAS BEEN TESTED ON VARIOUS MXQ BOXES BUT WE CANNOT GUARANTEE IT WILL WORK FOR YOU. WE CANNOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG.



If you follow these steps correctly, it should get AlexELEC up and running for you correctly on many different devices. Please note that updates are released frequently for this development so check back on AlexELEC’s github for the latest releases.

  1. Does not work on M8S which is S812. I have dual booted Liberelec for MX3 (not MX 111) and is working good but with Jarvis. Can’t find a .tar file to go to Krypton.
