A long while back we sent a couple of members of the Libretro team, who develops Retroarch and Lakka, some MXQ boxes and HD18Q boards with the hope of getting a port of the Lakka retro gaming system build for the MXQ S805 box, after a lot of hard on the developers part we finally got a working port for these devices, for a while this was hosted on their Lakka mirror website with other development ports but after a while it started receiving updates, and now, the MXQ port of Lakka is an officially supported build and is available from the Lakka website.
So with the help of this guide you will be able to hopefully turn your old TV box into an awesome retro gaming console as Lakka incoporates Libretro’s amazing RetroArch emulator front-end into it’s own self contained operating system.
In this video Matthew will show you how to get this, write the firmware to an SD card and install on your MXQ box.
