We reviewed the Beelink W95 a number of months ago now and we found the Beelink W95 to be actually a pretty good android TV box for it’s very low price. We where pretty disappointed that the W95 did not come with OTA updates but apart from that, the firmware was relatively stable.
Beelink have since released a pretty significant amount of updates and have rectified the missing task bar/status bar problem on the Nougat Android 7 firmware. I have detailed the steps required to install this new firmware onto your Beelink W95 and further down the page is a full and complete video tutorial.
You will require a Male To Male USB 2.0 Data Transfer Cable to complete this tutorial.
Step 1: Download the following files and unzip them
Step 2: Install Amlogic USB Burning Tool onto your Windows PC / Laptop.
Step 3: Load Amlogic USB Burning Tool and change the language and then load the IMG file that we downloaded using the IMPORT IMAGE option under file. Proceed to click START which is located on the top right hand screen of Amlogic USB Burning Tool.
Step 4: Grab your Beelink W95 and plug in a Male To Male USB 2.0 Cable into your PC / Laptop. Hold in the RESET button located underneath your Beelink W95 and insert the other end of the Male To Male USB cable.
Step: Your PC / Laptop will see the Beelink W95 and install drivers, you may need to unplug and reinsert the USB cable into your Beelink W95 Android TV Box for Amlogic Burning Tool to recognise.
Step 6: Allow Amlogic USB Burning Tool to burn the new firmware IMG onto your Beelink W95.
Step 7: Unplug from your PC / Laptop and power up over on your TV. Initial boot will take 5-10 minutes.
The below video will show you in further detail on to install the latest Android Nougat 7.1.2 Firmware onto your Beelink W95 TV Box.
Hope this takes your W95 and makes it awesome, until next time.
